Milestones

There are several milestones scheduled over the course of the semester. The primary purpose of the milestones is to help ensure that you are making progress on the project.

Milestone 0

This one is unlike the later milestones. Milestone 0 is simply an opportunity for you to get feedback on your project ideas. You will not receive a grade for milestone 0. The more preparation you have done before your milestone 0 meeting, the more likely it is that you'll get value out of it.

Milestones 1-3

In your project proposal you will include concrete goals for milestones 1-3. During these milestone meetings we will discuss how well your progress is tracking you plan. These milestones will be a small part of your overall course grade. You do not need to have achieved your goals to get full credit for a milestone. However, if you have not achieved your goals, you must have a credible explanation for why you did not and you must have adjusted the remaining goals to accommodate the schedule slippage.
