Exploring the limits of what computers can do

Office hours

Students are welcome at office hours, or to email me for an individual/group appointment. There is a strong correlation between students who ask questions (in class/lab/office hours) and students who do well in this class.

Student Support

To provide additional help there is a class workspace on Slack. If you have a question outside of class or office hours, you can post a question to the class and/or privately to the me. Please use Slack for all course content/lab topics. This allows students to see common problems and to engage in discussions about course material. Students are encouraged to respond to other students' questions. This will form part of your participation grade. It goes without saying that students should not post answers to homework questions on Slack. Questions/posts that include answers and/or discuss solutions too closely will be deleted.

Academic Accomodations

If you believe you need accommodations for a disability or a chronic medical condition, please contact Student Disability Services via email at studentdisabilityservices@swarthmore.edu to arrange an appointment to discuss your needs. As appropriate, the office will issue students with documented disabilities or medical conditions a formal Accommodations Letter. Since accommodations require early planning and are not retroactive, please contact Student Disability Services as soon as possible. For details about the accommodations process, visit the Student Disability Services website. You are also welcome to contact me [the faculty member] privately to discuss your academic needs. However, all disability-related accommodations must be arranged, in advance, through Student Disability Services.
