There were only 15 sinks with a persistence greater than 50ft (15m) and all but one of these corresponded to quarries; the last ... was due to a bridge crossing a steep river valley. The sinks with the 100 highest persistence values had persistence value greater than 29.7ft. By visual inspection, we found that most of these sinks were due to bridges crossing waterways.
