  1. Reread P&P pp. 97-111, 115-145, 155-171.
  2. Read P&P pp. 177-190
  3. Skim P&P pp.199-215
  4. Read P&P pp. 219-240
  5. Continue to play around with the LC-3 simulator.
  6. Do Exercise 6.11 on page 173 of P&P. This is due at the beginning of seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 8. You can actually use the simulator to run your program. You may hand write this. You may work in teams. Make sure you include your LC3 machine language program and explain in prose (and possibly diagrams) how your program works. If it does not work, explain how you thought it should work.

  8. Read S pp. 408, 426, 433-438, 443-444, 476-477, 497-498
  9. Read Experiments in Musical Intelligence
  10. Explore some of the pages at What is CYC? and Overview of CYC's R&D
  11. For seminar discussion on Weds, 8 Oct: We will continue our discussion of machine intelligence. Is is possible? How might machine intelligence (or close approximations) impact privacy. Formulate your thoughts on these issues so that you can express them clearly in seminar on Wednesday.
