    The following email comes from Sam Ehrlichman (Swarthmore '95).

    I work as a researcher at Jane Street Capital, a quantitative trading
    firm based in New York City.  Jane Street is not your typical finance
    company.  We hire mathematicians and computer scientists to solve fun,
    challenging problems.  Previous background in finance or economics is
    NOT a consideration.  The culture is intellectual, the people are
    ethical and respectful, and the pay is excellent.

    We would like to invite students to a dinner off-campus on Monday, Nov
    12 (time and location TBD, but we promise the food will be good!).
    Transportation will be provided.  This is not a job interview, but
    rather an opportunity for us to talk to students about what kind of
    place Jane Street is to work. Students from any year are welcome.
    We have only directly contacted the math and CS departments, so
    please feel free to forward this to your friends studying other
    technical disciplines.
