Guidelines for Proposal Submission: Workshops
Workshops are intended to provide an in-depth review of a topic of
interest, designed to be immediately useful in the classroom. To this
end, workshop presenters should plan to provide participants with a
set of handouts outlining the material covered in the workshop. SIGCSE
will reimburse presenters for up to 50 pages per participant at 5
cents per page. We hope to have some computer labs available for
presenters interested in doing "hands-on" workshops, but the number
will certainly be limited.
You may want to review the list of SIGCSE
2000 workshops before submitting a proposal.
Workshop Proposal (2 page limit) should include the following:
- Workshop title
- An abstract (5 line limit)
- Length: Half day or full day
- For each presenter: name, department, academic institution, address,
telephone number, email address
- Overall objective
- Intended audience
- Expected outcome
- Description of materials provided to participants
- Audio-Visual needs
- If a "hands-on" workshop is proposed, but no computer lab is
available, could you still offer the workshop?
