I am a Visiting Instructor in the Computer Science Department at Swarthmore College. I am also the Director of Computer Science Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania Netter Center for Community Partnerships. My general research area is computer science education, in particular: service learning, cascading mentoring, Deconstructionist learning as a complement to Constructionist learning, Debug'ems and other Deconstruction Kits, and the Hop-Skip-Jump pedagogical progression (from unplugged computing to block-based programming to text-based programming).
