Browsing the Internet
We have a variety of internet browsers installed on the CS machines. Below are some of the options with links to their home pages. Most of these programs can be started by typing either the name of the browser by itself, or the browser name and then a URL (e.g., mozilla http://www.cs.swarthmore.edu).
When you're ready to logout, don't forget to quit the broswer first, and then log off the computer (exit the window manager). Sometimes, if you just exit the window manager, the browser keeps running as a stray process, which can use up system resources.
